HOW TO HELP

For the first time in over a decade, a concerted and organized effort to create and submit a bill was made through the hard work of many individuals and organizations. The result of this hard work was SB 629 which was sponsored by Senator Marsden.

How you can help:

• Join the Facebook Group Virginia Stream Navigation Bill
• Find out who your legislator is and ask them to support SB 629.  Email both your Senator and Delegate.  Contacting them is the single most important way you can help.  Each legislator has an aid who reads the emails and puts a “tick” mark in either the “support” or “don’t support” column of a big excel sheet (contains all the bills)…when it’s time to vote the legislator looks at these numbers when deciding on how to vote.
• Find more supporters: talk to your Chamber of Commerce, economic development, and tourism offices. Talk to outdoor stores, user groups, and clubs
• Post ideas and suggestion on this site as well as the Facebook page
